RPM Programs
RPM has a variety of programs available for you to pick and choose allowing parents and players to place the emphasis where they need it the most. We offer programs for entry level, average and elite level players. Our programs start at age 3 up to Adult.
RPM programs are co-ed and inclusive
Respective age groups have recently been renamed by Hockey Canada - RPM has included the new names, the previous name and the specific age groups that it applies to.
Minor Hockey has two levels of play - C level Hockey (Recreational) and Rep Level Hockey (upper ended to elite level players) RPM will refer to C Level programs as Recreational Level or Rep Level Programs which are programs aimed at the advanced players. Parents with children in minor hockey are aware of which level their children currently play at.
Please Note: RPM is not responsible for the selection you make regarding our schools. RPM is also not responsible for those who miss our programs due to their own schedule or timetable conflicts/errors. Parents are required to make sure that their children have the appropriate CSA equipment to participate in any/all of our programs.
Parents please familiarize yourself with our policies listed below the company header on our website homepage.

Have you ever watched an on ice session where the players are told to skate hard, skate faster, harder faster go go go and so on....RPM is the opposite we don't tell you to skate harder, faster we teach you how to skate harder and faster!
Many players make the assumption that by moving their legs faster they'll skate faster. Wrong! It’s not about how fast you move your legs it’s about moving them correctly and efficiently with power!
Parents often tell RPM to "skate them hard", "make them work", "get them tired". If the players don't come off the ice sweating they haven't had a valuable on ice session? This couldn't be further from the truth. It’s not about how hard, how fast it’s about how correct!
The RPM power skating program is a technique based program. The purpose is to teach players how to perform the skating skills correctly! The goal to become not just fast, but powerful, stable, explosive and efficient.
It’s not about filling a 60 minute on ice session with random drills with kids flying thru those drills out of control simply layering bad habits and poor technique - layer upon layer.
The RPM method in simplest terms is to have players understand how the body must move to execute the desired physical response. Our instruction allows players to understand
The best way to go fast is to first slow down.
Players need to slow the process and technique down to fully understand and appreciate what is being asked of them. RPM breaks down each of the skating skills into smaller parts working towards the proper execution of each technical skating skill. Once the skill techniques are achieved we will look to further refine the skill by adding pucks, reduced space, more challenging drills and implementing tactical/game play.
Don’t mistake learning for standing around...to teach the techniques properly there will be some standing around in small group discussion as RPM staff take the time to break the teaching technique down into progressions and specific skill components. What is it you are paying for? Fast paced drills which are all flash and no substance performed incorrectly without a proper understanding of how to do the skills properly? Or technical instruction that is taught correctly and will allow your player to establish a strong skating base to further develop all other hockey skills?
RPM instructional staff are certified/qualified CanPower Skate Instructors - We instruct to the national standards and implement Canada's National Power Skating Program.
The RPM process:
Note: RPM incorporates our Power Skating instruction in all of our programs relative to the type of program. Some include the entire Power Skating Program and others include Power Skating Instruction as it relates to the uniqueness of the program.
