Posted Saturday May 16 13:11 by Craig Millin
This is a quick summary of the protocols that will be implemented at the ice arena/recreation facilities. Note these restrictions are not limited to recreation facilities and will also be implemented at other businesses and organizations.

Starting Monday, September 13, organizations and businesses across BC will be requiring proof of vaccination - the BC Vaccine Card - for certain discretionary activities as outlined by the provincial government.

Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, communities continue to follow the guidance and direction of the Provincial Health Officer and Regional Health. Implementing BC Vaccine Card procedures is required in order to comply with legislation and keep city facilities and programs safe.

Proof of vaccination and photo ID will be required for those 19 years and older participating in fitness, sport and other physically active programs. To access any of the following services at Recreation Centre's, you must provide verification of your vaccination status by order of the Provincial Health Officer:

It is not required for physical activities, sports or fitness for individuals 18 years and younger.

Individuals who do not show proof of vaccine will not be permitted to participate in specified indoor programs, unless they fall under an exemption outlined in the provincial public health orders.

Face masks must be worn when in the presence of others and in common indoor areas throughout the facility. Face masks may be removed during physical activity. Masks must be worn immediately before and after physical activities / sporting events and when moving through the facilities.
